Academic opportunities

We offer a high number of mandatory subjects for a broad and in-depth education.

Academic Program/Curriculum

The academic program is rigorous. The high number of mandatory subjects and lessons per week provide students with a broad and in-depth education. Students are required to meet minimum academic standards and failure to do so leads to probation, repetition of a school year or dismissal from the school.
Study weeks, project weeks, class weeks, winter sports camps, subject specific excursions and class trips complement classroom education. In addition, the school offers a wide variety of non-mandatory electives in the academic, arts and athletic disciplines.

Graduation

Upon successful completion of all classes, exams and the senior project, students graduate with the "Matura" diploma which is recognized throughout Switzerland and entitles graduates to study at all Swiss colleges and universities without entrance examination. Internationally this compares at minimum to the International Baccalaureate (IB). Approximately 18% of Swiss students graduate with this degree every year and graduates are considered the elite of the Swiss educational system.

Grading

All courses are graded on a scale of 1 (worst) to 6 (best). Achievement is measured in full and half points.
