The pro­fes­sio­nal edu­ca­ti­on and trai­ning col­lege for tech­no­lo­gy and de­sign (Hö­he­re Fach­schu­le für Tech­nik und Ge­stal­tung) is a de­part­ment at the Gewerblich-Industrielles Bildungszentrums GIBZ and is fe­deral­ly re­cognis­ed. Stu­dents gra­dua­te with a Fe­de­ral di­plo­ma in HF tech­ni­ci­an in wood tech­no­lo­gy (HF-​Techniker, HF-​Technikerin in Holz­tech­nik or HF de­si­gner pro­duct de­sign (HF-​Gestalter, HF Ge­stal­te­rin Pro­dukt­de­sign). The HFTG also runs pre­pa­ra­to­ry cour­ses (part-​time, in com­bi­na­ti­on with work) for fe­de­ral di­plo­ma exams (eid­ge­nös­si­sche Fach­prü­fun­gen) and ad­van­ced fe­de­ral di­plo­ma exams (Meis­ter­prü­fun­gen).
