The professional education and training college for technology and design (Höhere Fachschule für Technik und Gestaltung) is a department at the Gewerblich-Industrielles Bildungszentrums GIBZ and is federally recognised. Students graduate with a Federal diploma in HF technician in wood technology (HF-Techniker, HF-Technikerin in Holztechnik or HF designer product design (HF-Gestalter, HF Gestalterin Produktdesign). The HFTG also runs preparatory courses (part-time, in combination with work) for federal diploma exams (eidgenössische Fachprüfungen) and advanced federal diploma exams (Meisterprüfungen).
