Cross-border commuters

Cross-border commuters

Within their region, cross-border commuters have the same rights as Swiss nationals (national treatment) for the acquisition of a second home or real estate in respect of pursuing their occupation (commercial premises). The purchase of a holiday home still requires a permit. Canton Zug is not part of the cross-border commuter region and therefore cross-border commuters may not acquire real estate in the canton. This regulation is valid for at least the two-year period known as national priority.
