Cars and boats can be imported with their foreign registration cards and foreign plates. To be considered as part of your removal goods (and therefore duty and tax-free) a motor vehicle must have been in your possession for at least 6 months before the move.

After 12 months at the latest after import, vehicles must be provided with a Swiss vehicle registration certificate and Swiss number plates. Before licensing, the vehicle must be cleared by customs and be given a test of roadworthiness in Switzerland.
