The Canton of Zug lies in the middle of Europe and in the heart of Switzerland. It is regarded as a junction between the urban Canton of Zurich and the more rural districts of central Switzerland.

From a landscape point of view, the Canton of Zug is characterized by two picturesque lakes, gentle hills and the foothills of the Alps. Thanks to its excellent infrastructure for public and private transport, Zurich and Lucerne can be reached in less than 30 minutes. The City of Zug is the main center of the canton, which is made up of 11 political municipalities.
