Birth
Once your child is born, you must register the birth at the place of birth of the child. In most cases this is organised for you by the hospital authorities. If your child is born at home, you must register the birth yourself at the civil register office. In order to register a birth, documents concerning the civil status of the parents is sometimes required. This is why it is advisable to get in contact with the appropriate registry office during pregnancy. If the necessary civil status documents are not available, this means that the registry and issuing of a birth certificate could be considerably delayed. Furthermore the child must be registered with a health insurer by the age of three months at the latest.
