In the Canton of Zug, a large number of new child care possibilities to supplement the family have been introduced in recent years. Many communities support the provision of care services. Block times have been introduced in accordance with the education law, but they are applied in varying ways. The Zug municipalities offer a wide range of child care services during non-school hours (providing the opportunity for children to have lunch and be looked after before and after school as well as during holidays and other periods of free time).
