Switzerland’s tax system differs from that of other countries in that tax is payable for each level of administration: namely at municipal, cantonal and federal levels. Each municipality is able to determine its own tax rates. The tax rates between cantons vary, and the only tax for which the same rate is charged throughout the country is the state tax. Tax-wise, Zug belongs to the most attractive cantons in Switzerland.
