Commercial-industrial education centre Zug (GIBZ)
GIBZ is responsible for imparting vocation-related knowledge and skills as part of basic education and training for positions in the commercial, healthcare and technical-industrial areas. The commercial professions aimed at are predominantly in the construction and service sectors. The healthcare professions aimed at include health specialists and assistants in the areas of health and social services, and the envisaged technical-industrial professions are in the motor vehicle, electro-technology, IT, CAD and engineering fields.

In addition, GIBZ is responsible for running courses as part of advanced professional education and training, based on the basic education and training mentioned above.

Apprenticeships
Students are taught their profession during a 3- or 4-year apprenticeship. They attend classes in vocational and general subjects, as well as sports lessons. The professionla degree is the Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training. The 2-year basic education ends with the Federal Certificate of Vocational Education and Training.

Federal vocational baccalaureate (Berufsmaturität, BM)
The federal vocational baccalaureate, which is completed alongside an apprenticeship, takes four years. The part-time federal vocational baccalaureate takes two years and the fulltime federal vocational education one year. The federal vocational baccalaureate entitles students to enter the appropriate university of applied sciences (Fachhochschule) without having to sit an entrance test. Via Passerelle, students can also study at the university or ETH. 

Further offer
GIBZ offers supplementary educational modules for health specialists. In the area of advanced professional education and training, GIBZ runs the professional education and training college for technology and design (Höhere Fachschule für Technik und Gestaltung, HFTG - link leads to German site) and other further education courses.
