ZM/Centre for Oral Communication
The Centre for Oral Communication: Promoting and Researching Oracy

Founded in 2009 as an interdisciplinary centre, the Centre for Oral Communication (ZM) fosters oracy in schools and in everyday life through research, teacher training, and the development of school materials and school projects. In addition to drawing on its in-house expertise, the ZM collaborates with experts in Switzerland and abroad.
Public speaking, active listening, and the art of conversation are key skills for teachers and students alike. Mastering these skills in the workplace, at home, and in schools lays the foundation for clearer communication and better learning outcomes. The Centre for Oral Communication (ZM) supports students and student teachers, as well as veteran educators and other interested parties in researching, teaching, and developing oral language skills. The ZM initiates its own research and development projects, as well as accepting commissioned projects from schools and educational boards. The ZM is an active member of the scientific community locally, nationally, and internationally.
